Congregation Dorshei Tzedek - 60 Highland St, West Newton, MA 02465
·Congregation Dorshei Tzedek is thrilled to welcome one of the most exciting new voices in American Jewish music to CDT! Batya will join us for a musical erev Shabbat service on Friday evening, beginning with a potluck vegetarian dinner at 6:30pm, followed by services at 7:30pm (in the CDT sanctuary and accessible on Zoom). Come ready to sing!
Batya Levine (they/them) uses song as a tool for cultivating healing and resilience in their work as a communal song leader, shaliach tzibur (Jewish prayer leader) and cultural organizer. Batya is a co-founder and Director of Programs at Let My People Sing!, and they compose original music made of Ashkenazi yearning, queer heart-medicine, and emunah (faith). Batya is preparing to release their second album December 2024. www.batyalevine.com
