Our outdoor gathering time to toss our sins into the waters of the Charles in Millenium Park.
Please join Rabbis Toba Spitzer and Sarah Noyovitz for a songful Selichot service and ritual, hosted by Congregation Dorshei Tzedek from 8:00 to 10:00 pm. Feel free to bring a notebook for journaling - markers and index cards will be provided for the ritual.

12-noon children join the sanctuary service to return the Torah to the ark
12:30 - 1:30 Musaf service, including guided meditation and reflections by Dana Rubin and Josh Coben.
The congregation gathers to hear the Kol Nidre prayer on the cello sung by the rabbi. Rabbi's sermon: "Don't be a Zombie: Choose Life." Susannah Sirkin co-leads with the Rabbi.
With traditional prayers, a discussion of a theme of the Torah, a full sounding of the shofar, and a participatory acrostic prayer for the year.
Our outdoor gathering will include a story from Rabbi Barbara and time to toss our sins into the waters of the Charles in Millenium Park.
Festive new music to celebrate the New Year with singers and instrumental accompaniment. Everyone will have the option to join in an aliyah to the Torah. Rabbi's sermon: "Breaking Down the Walls, One Stone at a Time". Reflections by Katy Abel, David Brenner, and Claudia Harris. Children join the sanctuary service for the shofar and closing of the service.
Rabbi Penzner will lead us from the sanctuary and Rich Moche will sing the traditional Sephardi piyyut (hymn) to end the year of curses and begin the year with blessings.
Celebrate Pesach with HBT
At our MLK service, which will be in person and on Zoom, Rabbi Barbara will be joined by member Sharin Horvitz on guitar as we sing Freedom Songs and folk songs (introduced by explaining the origins and uses of each song), with instruments and harmony. Not to be missed!

For those looking for the "missing pieces" of a fuller service, our second day service will also include group aliyot, a meditation on the meaning of the shofar, and our annual "alphabet" prayer.

FIRST DAY OF ROSH HASHANAH - Tuesday, Sept. 7, 10:00am - 12:30pm, Remote & In-Person
Morning services in the sanctuary and programming for children and teens will begin promptly at 10am. Among the traditional psalms, join in welcoming the New Year singing Cat Stevens’ “Morning has Broken” and Debbie Friedman’s “Holy Place” with our musicians.
The Torah service, shofar, and dedication will take place from 10:45am until 12 noon, with additional joyful music and group aliyot to include everyone. At noon the rabbi will give her sermon, “Practicing Hope.” The service will end at 12:30pm.
