Shabbat Shira, or "Shabbat of Song," falls this year on February 7-8. During this special Shabbat, we chant Shirat HaYam ("The Song of the Sea"), the triumphant song the Israelites sang after their crossing of the Red Sea, marking our people's liberation from Egyptian slavery.
