The Arava Institute is an environmental and academic institution in the Middle East, dedicated to preparing future leaders from Israel, Palestine, Jordan, and around the world (a study abroad option for college students from the United States) to cooperatively solve the regional and global challenges of our time, advancing cross-border environmental cooperation regardless of political conflict while advancing cross-border environmental discourse in the Middle East. Rabbi Michael M. Cohen,  has been involved with the Arava Institute since its doors opened in 1996, dividing his time between Vermont and Arava's Kibbutz Ketura campus. He will share two decades of experience with the Institute.
