Shabbat morning December 10

Larry M. Diamond Human Rights Shabbat

10am to 11:45am   Zoom only (link below)

On this 74th anniversary of International Human Rights Day, HBT hosts special guests from Migrant Justice as part of our annual commemoration. The service will include temple members of all ages reading the articles of the original Declaration of Human Rights and will feature inspiring videos with HBT members putting our commitment to human rights into action.

If you were in that original video of members reading the Declaration, you won't want to miss seeing the video this year!

We will focus on the rights of farmworkers, with guests from Burlington, Vermont's Migrant Justice highlighting the inspiring Milk with Dignity Campaign.

Our speakers from Migrant Justice will be introduced by HBT's own Julian Cranberg, who was awarded the Larry M. Diamond TIkkun Olam Youth award in 2016.

Migrant Justice is a grassroots community organization founded by and led by the immigrant farm worker community working on dairy farms in Vermont. Our mission is to build the voice, capacity, and power of the farm worker community and engage community partners to organize for economic justice and human rights.
