Torah study
We will study Parshat Beha’alotecha. This is the third of three parshiyot beginning the book of Bamidbar that, among other things, discuss the Levites. The Levites have special status as porters and guardians of the Mishkan and its holy implements; singers of psalms in the Temple; and the tribe of Moshe, Aaron and Miriam, as well as the Kohanim.
But wait, isn’t that “Levites” as in Jacob’s son Levi, who slaughtered a whole town of men to avenge the rape of his sister Dinah, thus meriting a deathbed curse from his father? How did we get from there to here? Come join us as we follow Levi’s journey to redemption.
