Hillary's research focused on JoC families (parents with JoC children) in majority-White U.S. supplementary schools. The study examined parents' perceptions of their supplementary school experiences within the context of White/Ashkenazi normativity, systemic racism, and the complex objectives of supplementary education. Hillary's interest in this topic was sparked by her experiences at HBT working with JoC and multiracial families, and her own thinking about the issues of racism, identity, and Jewish education.
